New circle drawing in progress + detail for a show this summer at Bert Green Fine Art in Chicago.
More details forthcoming but the show is going to have a bunch of new and recent drawings, collages and video and will be titled “State of Man” because that’s what it will be: A mini retrospective, and a laying to rest for some bodies of work.

In 2012 I was commissioned to make a large “circle drawing.” (See this tweet). For various reasons it took a while to complete, not least of which being it consists of thousands of really tiny circles. But, I finally finished it the other day. Sweet!
I had decided from the beginning to do a time lapse of the process: a photo every four hours no matter what was or wasn’t happening in the studio. What you’re seeing is the result of that. It was shot using an old Brinno device. Sorry for the blackness flashy epilepsy-inducingness; those are the photos from the middle of the night.
To see detailed images of the drawing check out this post.
Music by Dr. Dog.
Funny to think that when this is all said and done it will just be a big square of tiny circles…
